Goodbye, 2016

As this year comes it a close, it is only proper to sit back and reflect on the year that was and what I hope for the year that will be.

It is true, this year had its fair share of ups and downs.  For the record, I’ve never been a fan of roller coasters.  However, I can truly say that I am blessed and I overall, I cannot complain about how I was personally impacted in 2016.

First and foremost, I was able to wake up each day and take a breath. I had a job to go to that provided for me to pay for my home and my obligations.  Overall, my health was good, and it allowed me to be there to take care of my mom when she needed it.  I was able to care for her after her heart attack and help her with chores that she is no longer physically able to handle.

Yes, I battled with some anxiety and depression due to stress and a hefty workload in the office.  But, instead of suffering in silence, I found the courage to stand up and admit there was a problem and I needed help.  My boss, my real friends, and my family were all supportive and understanding.  They helped me through some dark times and allowed me to come out feeling better and having a better outlook.

It wasn’t all good, but I am preferring to focus on the positives and use that as a guiding force for the new year.  This blog was something I was not sure I should do.  I have found this creative outlet for my stories, and I am thankful for that.  While I do not, necessarily, get a ton of traffic or comments – I hope that anyone who stops by enjoys what they find in my little corner of the cloud.

My hope for 2017 is that we find tolerance, peace, and understanding.

I would love it if you left a comment from time to time, gave me an opinion on a story or gave a suggestion.  Reach out in 2017 and say hello!
