I’ve been thinking

I am seriously considering closing down the Tumblr site that I’ve been maintaining and posting to.  I had hoped that by posting there, I could reach an audience for my stories and gain a following.  All I’d really wanted was for people to read my stories and give feedback – I guess that is what all writers or aspiring writers long for.  While my stories are fanfiction, using an established person as the central character for my stories, I’m not writing the traditional type of story.  I don’t write the same type of story that is out there on the fan site.  Instead, I’ve always branched out and tried to write the type of story I’d want to read as a real novel.

Unfortunately, the feedback has not been forthcoming.  Once in a while, I’ll have someone who is vocal about a story.  But the majority of the readers who click through to this site, never leave a comment or note.  It’s disheartening, to say the least.  Evidently, I’ve done something to make some of my followers unhappy, as some of them no longer engage with me at all.

So, I am thinking that I will post to this blog and to AO3 only.  If I’m not writing stories that the masses are enjoying, why push it out there?   Maybe this is one more realization that writing is not what I am meant to do as my creative outlet.  Who knows?

    1. Thank you, I appreciate it. I understand that I’m not a great novelist but I do like to tell stories. Once in a while it is nice to know that someone is enjoying what they are reading, or if they aren’t, what advice they have for improvement.
